DoD FIAR Senior Staff Consultant

About the Role:

The candidate will work as a FIAR (Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation) Senior Staff Consultant and will assist DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) by providing expertise, in the areas of stewardship, business process improvement, and audit sustainment initiatives.

Senior Consultant: As a senior consultant, you will develop specialized knowledge, manage larger and more complex components of our projects, and will have greater responsibility for engagement delivery and execution.

Ideal Candidate: the candidate will have the following:

  • GAAP, GAGAS, and extensive Internal Controls experience
  • OMB Circulars A-123, A-134, A-136 and other OMB policies
  • FASAB, SSAC, and SFFAS experience
  • DoD and DLA financial management and logistics policies and procedures experience
  • Extensive experience assessing Notice of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs), and development of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)
  • DLA policies, systems and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property, and material management experience
  • Familiarity with FMS

Skills and Attributes for Success:

  • Demonstrated competence in one or more of the following: Internal Controls, IT General Controls, and/or Internal Audit
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to perform additional ad hoc duties within area of practice to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.

Experience:

  • Four (4) years of accounting or financial experience, including supervising and directing efforts of staff.
  • Financial statement audit experience or preparation of assertion packages

Education:

  • Four-year degree in accounting or business management related field from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 20 CPE credits each fiscal year and 120 credits over a three-year rolling period

Certification : CPA, CIA, CISA, CDFM, or CGFM certification highly desired.
